On his own

We started our food storage! Luke has been sleeping all the way through the night for two weeks now. So we took down the pack and play and traded it in for new shelf. Luke did great this week in his big room all alone. The first night I lovingly tucked him in and told him how much I loved him and kissed him good night several times. When I came back in our room, I didn't realize that the baby monitor was already on. Eric had a good laugh and said, "Someone is going to have a hard time sending him to kindergarten." I laughed. I just love having my boy with me!

When I was in college I dreamed of the day that I would no longer have to take a Sharpie to every food item that I bought and fight for space in the fridge or cupboard. So 10 lbs of black beans, some Jasmine rice, 6 cans of spaghetti sauce and we are on our way to having our year's supply.

*After a very fruitful trip to Smart and Final and Preparing Wisely (the food storage store by the temple) I thought I would update the picture.

  1. That is so awesome! Good for you!! I wish we had more storage space!

  2. I remember the first time I put Connor in his own room for the first time. I kept checking on him because I missed him being close to me! You guys are such good parents and look at you already starting your food storage! Go you!

  3. Look at you go! I love that you mentioned the sharpie memories... :)
