On my mind

I have often wondered why I choose to work in pediatric oncology. I felt very strongly that it was a position I needed to take when I searched for jobs. I have worked at Pheonix Children's Hospital for almost a year and a half now. I can think of handfuls of patients who finished their treatment shouting ha ha to cancer's ugly face. I can also think of a few dear children who courageously fought life's toughest battle and returned home to our Father in Heaven where he welcomes them into an eternal victory. These children, how I can't seem to call them children, as they have more maturity and wisdom then their age should require, have taught me some of life's sweetest lessons of courage, love, patience, graditude, and hope.

  1. What a neat experience you get to see every day! I am sure that you learn so much from your patients.

  2. Awww, you made me cry! You yourself are one of the courageous ones for doing the job you do. It takes a strong person to deal with death everyday!

  3. That would be so neat and touching to see those children beat cancer, but at the same time hard to see those who don't make it. Bless you for having the courage to deal with such bliss and heartache at the same time and to help someone through probably the toughest struggle they will ever have to face! So are you still working at the hospital and will you keep working after your son is born or are you staying home?
